A new baby is a different kind of joy, the one only a new mother or father can experience. As you welcome your tiny tot into this world, you want nothing but the best for them. However, a newborn means the added expense of diapers, nursing bottles, baby products and what not. Most importantly, the mothers often feel confused about what products to use on their little ones’ skin and end up buying the most expensive baby products off-the-shelf.
But what if we told you that there are eco-friendly baby products that are not only natural but also affordable?
Here are some ways you can replace all the expensive synthetic products for a more natural, money-saving solution.
Diapers are the first and largest expense, not to mention the environmental hazard they pose. You will need at least 4-5 diapers every day until you potty-train your kid and these diapers take hundreds of years to dispose. Moreover, they are an expensive item and need constant replenishment. However, you can ditch the ready-made diapers and use washable cloth diapers instead. You can also use natural detergent to keep them soft and fresh, free from any chemicals. Natural detergents can also be made at home, which will save you tons of money and keep your babies safe from chemicals.
Alternatively, you can also go for biodegradable diapers that are made of plant-based materials. These diapers are compostable and do not use petroleum in their making. You can remove the decomposable inserts and safely flush them down the toilet. It is a lot less messy and they can be used outside the home in place of traditional diapers.
Breastfeed for as long as you can
Feeding your little one with breast milk not only has all the nutritional power an infant requires, but it is also free! You should naturally feed your child for as long as possible. It is also a precious moment for a mother to let their kids suckle on their breasts. Avoid the bottle for as long as you can, for its ill environmental effects and the cost of buying bottles.
Dress your babies wisely
Buying stuff for your newborns is an emotional experience for parents. However, as tantalizing as it is to buy expensive designer clothes, it is important to know that they will soon grow out of them. Instead, it is better to dress your kids in clothes made of organic cotton or hemp. They are easier to maintain and cost a lot less than you think. You can also talk to friends or relatives for hand-me-downs.
These are just some of the many tricks you can use to make your kid’s growing up experience more enjoyable and eco-friendly, than expensive.
